About the event

October Plática: A Community Conversation“Who Represents Me?”

The Community Transformation Alliance invites you to join us for a thoughtful conversation about understanding who makes decisions in our own communities—and how those decisions affect our daily lives. Many community members follow national politics closely but aren’t always clear on who makes decisions in their own neighborhoods. This plática is designed to bridge that gap by helping participants connect the dots between government structures and their daily lives.

This plática (community dialogue) will create a safe and welcoming space to learn more about the roles of our local, county, and state leaders. Together, we will discuss:

  • How to identify your elected officials at every level

  • The responsibilities of city council, county commissioners, school boards, and state representatives

  • How local and state decisions directly impact our neighborhoods, schools, and families
